Welcome to the St Merryn Parish Council website

St Merryn is a rural parish of 3798 acres, it is bounded by the parishes of St Ervan, St Eval and Padstow and about 5.5 miles of Atlantic coastline. The vast majority of the parish is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are also extensive areas designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and of Great Scientific Value..

The main business and residential area is at Shop, other principal places of residence are Constantine, Treyarnon, Porthcothan and Harlyn and there are also several smaller hamlets dotted throughout the parish.

Aside from agriculture, tourism is the principal industry providing employment for many, either directly through retail outlets, holiday businesses etc. or indirectly to those who provide supporting services.

St Merryn has many amenities including a primary school, church, two pubs, fuel station and garage, restaurants and other eateries, newsagents, parish hall, church hall and a Youth Hostel.

Meetings


Meetings are  held at the Amenities and Sports Pavilion at St Merryn Playing Fields on the third Thursday of each month, any changes will be notified as soon as possible on here.

Please note: The Parish Council may not meet in August or December, please keep an eye on our website for updates.

The next scheduled meeting of the Parish Council is to be held on Thursday 16th July 2026 at the Sports & Amenities Pavilion, Playing Field commencing at 7pm.
