The Council

Meetings are normally held at the Amenity & Sports Pavilion on the third Thursday of each month, starting at 7pm and the hall is fully accessible.

Time may be set aside at the beginning of each meeting for Public participation and any updates from our County Councillor and PSCO (if in attendance).

The Parish Council acts on behalf of the residents of the parish by;

  • Responding to Cornwall Council as a consultee regarding planning applications
  • Taking up issues raised by residents and either resolving them or ensuring that the matter is referred to the appropriate person

Annual Parish Assembly

Effectively an AGM , this meeting is held annually (usually in May). This is an opportunity for residents of the Parish to air any topics of concern and to question the work of the Parish Council.

Planning

Planning applications received for consideration by St Merryn Parish Council will normally be included in the formal agenda posted on the public notice board and out website. Where applications are received after the notice of a meeting is displayed, every effort will be made to post an addendum to the agenda. However, the Council has the right to consider any planning application received up to the day of the meeting.
