Neighbourhood Development Plan

The Parish Council has resolved that action should be taken to a create a Neighbourhood Development Plan for your Parish.

Such a Plan, which is allowed for in current local planning regulations, provides the opportunity for a community to have a say in planning for the sustained development of its own local area.  It is essential that everyone is informed of the aims and objectives of the project and that anyone who wishes can contribute to the discussion of ideas and submit proposals.

A Steering Group has been set up to manage this project and they have begun to make contact with residents, businesses, property owners, etc, to explain the possibilities in more detail and to begin to gather information on local opinion and ideas.

Public meetings and consultations will take place throughout the process.  Details will be publicised on this website and by posters displayed  throughout the village.

LATEST NDP NEWS MAY 2023 (Cllr Edwards & the NDP working party).

We continue to meet regularly and work hard behind the scenes, reporting back to all Councillors at the monthly meetings We are now in a position to update you with our progress.

We have collated all data, and have had it created into readable presentation.

We are being assisted in developing maps showing greenspaces and settlement boundaries.

We will be coordinating with Cornwall Councils’ Neighbourhood Development Plan team to ensure we are following the correct procedures and publishing the correct statements and paperwork.

After this has taken place, it is anticipated that  there will be a  6-8 week review period .

Once this has been checked,  we can then move forward and  arrange  a Public Consultation, as soon as possible.

The initial survey has been complete and the results analysed.  The following link will take you to the details.

Initial Survey Result SEpt – Oct 2018

Second Survey,  November 2019

Following the Initial Survey last year, and the analysis of the results, the Steering Group has been studying the main issues raised and considering possible solutions to some of the problems.  To enable us to focus on specific policies for our neighbourhood we now need to ask for your choices and preferences on many detail points and we are distributing a new survey form.

We appreciate that this form is much longer than the first one and will take longer to complete but please try to find the time to fill it in.  The information we gather will enable us to create a first draft of the Neighbourhood Plan itself which can be circulated for your review and amendment before submitting it for official examination.  If it passes that examination the Plan will then be the subject of a public referendum for everyone to give their final decision.

Remember it is your opinion that matters – please fill in the form!

The final date for submission is 17th January 2020
